Baker Barrios Architects, Inc. provided full architectural design services for this Irish restaurant and pub. When entering An Tobar, one is greeted by famous landmarks from the streets of Dublin.  Hand painted murals of five famous Irish literary figures are highlighted - Yeats, Beckett, Shaw, Wilde and Joyce - thus reinforcing the link with the land of Saints and Scholars.  The Celtic mezzanine area depicts artwork and murals based on the Ancient Celtic Books of Kells, one of Ireland’s most valuable historical artifacts.  The furniture is larger and chunkier than contemporary furnishings, and is reminiscent  of a bygone era in Ireland. All of this detail makes An Tobar feel like a journey through the mists of time, giving pub-goers a taste of Ireland’s rich heritage and culture.
